Building Native User Interfaces from Mosync IDE

Published by romachal, February 23, 2010 Filed in

Let me first introduce myself: my name is Romain Chalant and I am currently working on my Master degree's thesis at MoSync. As you may expect, I am going to tell you a bit more about my work here.

In a context of multiple mobile devices, programmers have to design User Interfaces for each platform they want to support, or decide to use the same UI widgets for all the platforms, without using the features of each platform-specific look-and-feel.

My goal is to provide an abstraction layer for these programmers to allow them to generate native UI's for different platforms using a single MoSync library.

Unlike other solutions that already exist, no extra SDK will be required to get the benefits from that library, because it will be integrated into MoSync.

There is already a Windows Mobile prototype, which should be soon followed by prototypes for other platforms...

...To be continued !
